Commenting on Mixon's selection to the team, the Grapeland High School softball coaching staff of Joel Barbosa and Erica Gros said, "Chey has been a four-year starter, a three-time All-District performer and has done a great job this year helping in preparing her replacement in the center field position next year."
The coaches added, "She has played a pivotal role in helping establish this program into one of the best in Houston County and throughout the region in Class 2A. We are thrilled that she will have the opportunity to play this great game one more time in front of her friends and family."
