With the District 21-2A championship already secured, the Lovelady Lions ended the regular season with a 10-0 win over North Zulch at home Tuesday.
The victory gave the Lions a final district record of 11-1, which includes five shutouts.
Moundsman Alex McKnight worked four innings to record the win over North Zulch. He gave up no runs and two hits while striking out seven and walking one. Slade Smith pitched the final two frames, giving up no runs and no hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
Lovelady collected 10 runs on 11 hits, nine RBI, five walks and five strikeouts.
In addition to his stint on the mound, McKnight went 3-for-3 with one run, one RBI and a walk.
Mason Lowery, 2-for-2, scored three runs along with collecting one RBI and two walks. Blake Johnson, 2-for-2, scored once.
Lee Holsey went 1-for-2 with one run and two RBI. Daniel Cook also contributed at the plate going 1-for-1.
Hunter Murray, 1-for-3, had one run, one RBI, one walk and one strikeout. Jacob Jeffus, 1-for-3, recorded one run and one RBI.
Treyton Wilson, 0-for-1, logged two runs, one RBI and a walk. Nick Dodson, 0-for-1, and Slade Smith both contributed one RBI.
