Grapeland Sandiettes came in ninth in the UIL Class 2A State Golf Championships Monday and Tuesday.
The Sandiettes posted a total score of 842 (442-401).
"The girls struggled a little the first day, but came back and had a really good final round," said GHS golf coach Cannon Earp.
Senior Emily Walker posted a 9th place finish, giving her back-to-back Top-10 State Tournament finishes to end her career. Walker carded a 93 on Day 1 and then improved her Day 2 score to 80 for a 173 total.
Freshman Hannah Chipman also played much better the final round, climbing all the way up to 16th place. She shot a first round 95, but bounced back to post an 85 and finish with a total of 180.
Rounding out the GHS team were Madelyn Conner, Callie Richburg and Sayler Leblanc.
