Dogs Facing Central Heights in Bi-District

Crockett baseballers won their final district game over Onalaska 8-3 to secure the fourth place playoff seed in District 21-3A and will take on Central Heights in bi-district.

Game 1 will be Friday at 7 p.m. in Crockett. Game 2 will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Central Heights. Game 3, if necessary, will follow.

Playing at Onalaska last Friday, the Bulldogs scored three runs in the top of the first and three in the third. After the Wildcats cut the lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the third, Crockett tacked on an insurance run in the fourth and fifth frames.

Larren Reeves started on the mound and went 2 1/3 innings. He gave up two runs on no hits with four strikeouts and four walks.

Ty Dowell worked the final 4 2/3 innings to record the pitching win. He gave up one run on two hits while striking out seven and walking three.

Crockett collected eight runs on 10 hits off Onalaska, along with seven RBI, three walks and three strikeouts.
Willie Revels led the hitting attack going 3-for-4 with a double and RBI.

Colby Davenport, 2-for-3, scored three runs and walked once. Case Robinson, 2-for-3, had two runs, one RBI, and was hit by pitch.

Larren Reeves, 1-for-2, booked one run, three RBI, one walk and reached on an error.

Drew Corry was 1-for-3 with one run and two RBI. Huntraiel Watson, 0-for-1, walked once and was hit by pitch twice.

Tyler Elmore was 1-for-4, Ty Dowell (0-for-4) scored a run, and Garrett Reeves (0-for-4) reached on a fielder's choice.

The Bulldogs logged 12 stolen bases, with Davenport accounting for six steals. Robinson and Larren Reeves had two apiece, while Revels and Dowell each had one.

In the first inning, Davenport drew a leadoff walk, stole second and third, and then scored on a single to left field by Robinson.

Robinson stole second and advanced to third when Dowell reached first on a dropped third strike.

After Dowell stole second, Larren Reeves hit a single to leftfield driving in two more runs for a 3-0 lead.

Onalaska had two base runners on walks in the second, but one was picked off at first and Reeves recorded two strikeouts to end the threat.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 6-0 in the third. Davenport started the inning with a leadoff single, stole second and third, and scored on a single to centerfield by Drew Corry.

Robinson singled to leftfield and a groundout by Dowell put runners at second and third.

A sacrifice fly by Larren Reeves scored Corry and Robinson later came home on a wild pitch.

With two outs, Revels singled to left, Watson walked and Elmore singled to load the bases, but they were stranded on a groundout.

The Wildcats answered with three runs in the bottom third. After scoring first on a RBI double, Onalaska pushed across two more runs on a steal of home and a wild pitch to make it 6-3.

In the fourth, Davenport led off with a single to shortstop, stole second and third and scored on a sac fly by Corry for a 7-3 lead.

In the fifth, Larren Reeves reached on an error, stole second and came home on a double to shortstop by Revels for a five-run cushion.
