Four of the Latexo Lady Tigers softball players participated in a camp at Tyler Junior College June 9-11 focusing on advanced skills in offense and defense.

Gracie Zalesky, Shala Creswell, Angeleah Benton and Emily Cook received instruction from TJC women's softball coach Nicole Dickson and her team to help sharpen their offensive and defensive skills. One of the camp instructors, TJC sophomore Halie Vance is pitching between 65 mph and 70 mph, and will be transferring to Texas Tech next year. In its first year of existence, the TJC softball team has qualified for the 2015 Region XIV tournament.

At the end of the camp, players competed to see who could throw the hardest and Gracie Zalesky won a hat with a pitch of 58 mph.

The Lady Tigers enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to applying the knowledge received from the Lady Apaches.

The TJC coach and all the girls enjoyed bonding with the Lady Tigers and extended an invitation for them to return for next year's camp.
