THREE CHARGED IN HOUSTON COUNTY FOR ALLEGED ONLINE SOLICITATION OF MINORS

Three Charged In Houston County

The Houston County Sheriff's Office Friday morning, Aug. 5, released the following statement:

"The Houston County Sheriff's Office solicited the assistance of the Attorney General's Office Cyber Unit to conduct an online operation targeting adults that solicit minor children for purpose of having sex. The operation commenced Monday morning, Aug. 1, 2016 and concluded Thursday afternoon, Aug. 4, 2016. Three adult males were arrested as a result of operation and are still in jail and have been magistrated and bond set at $30K.

"The Houston County Sheriff's Office is a member of the ( ICAC ) Internet Crimes Against Children and the Attorney General Office, Austin provides assistance to member agencies to conduct operations in areas when called upon. This topic is very disturbing to address, but we have to protect our children from these predators.

"The Attorney General's Office has been invited back to Houston County for another operation as well as going to the area schools to present information to students and educators on how to avoid being a victim by using safe internet operations and avoiding sites and Apps where these predators troll."

Those who were arrested are Richard Brent Allred, 51, of Lufkin, restaurant server; Alan Ray Brown, 57, of Longview, maintenance technician at a casino in Thackerville, OK; and Dana Ray Killian, 48, of Palestine, a correctional officer at Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Michael Unite, Tennessee Colony, TX.
