28-year-old suspect in Centerville burglary dies after being shot by law enforcement

A 28-year-old man suspected of involvement in a Centerville burglary died after being shot by law enforcement personnel Monday, Nov. 16, according to DPS officials. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Trinity River Bridge and SH 7.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Cameron Davis Long, originally from the Oakwood area, allegedly was fleeing from a Leon County Sheriff's deputy and a DPS Highway Patrol trooper, officials stated Thursday afternoon, Nov. 19.

The Texas Rangers and the Leon County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
