A face that became familiar to Crockett business owners over the past few weeks as the City of Crockett makes its transition from the city owned and operated Solid Waste and Recycling Center to the company the city council chose to provide solid waste pick-up is that of William "Bill" Thomas McFarland.
As the account manager for Progessive Waste Solutions of TX, Inc. in Palestine, McFarland was actively involved in meeting with individual business owners to arrange for dumpsters or carts for their trash pick-up.
On Thursday, Nov. 5, the Crockett Police Department arrested McFarland, 44, of Palestine for alleged Burglary with Intent to Commit Assault, a Second Degree Felony. The alleged assault was sexual in nature.
... Crockett Police Chief David Cross stated, "Mr. McFarland's manager at Progressive was contacted by city officials and he was advised of the charges.
