Perlon Ray Roark, 95, of Huntsville passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, about five hours after he was a passenger in a three-vehicle crash on SH 19, according to DPS Trooper IV David Hendry.

According to a press statement released by Hendry, the collision occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. Saturday, and Roark was pronounced deceased at 9:52 p.m. at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

"The preliminary crash investigation indicates that a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling northbound on SH 19 when it reportedly slowed down to make a left turn onto CR 3315 and was struck from behind by a 2014 Honda Civic," according to the DPS statement by Hendry.

"As a result of the collision the Chevrolet Cobalt slid into the southbound lane of SH 19 and was struck by a 2010 Toyota Prius," Hendry reported.

He stated Danny Lee Roark, 70, of Huntsville was driving the Prius, and Perlon Ray Roark was a passenger in that vehicle.

Danny Roark and a third occupant of the Prius, identified as Linda Joyce Webster, 60, of Spring were transported to the Houston County Medical Center for treatment, Hendry stated.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt, Lucas Wade Petty, 35, of Porter also was transported to Houston County Medical Center for possible treatment, according to the DPS.

The driver of the Honda Civic was identified as Whitni Alexis Pryor, 24, of Conroe.

This crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
