UPDATED - Crockett Man Perishes In Crash On SH 7

*The crash that occurred on SH7 has been cleared and the roadway is open, according to DPS officials.*  
 
A vehicular crash involving two tractor-trailer rigs and one pickup truck ended in the death of a Crockett man during the noon hour Friday, July 17, in Angelina County.
 
According to DPS officials, Lufkin DPS Troopers were notified at 12:56 p.m. of a three-vehicle crash on SH 7 at the Angelina County line in Angelina County. 
 
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that two truck-tractor semi-trailers were traveling westbound on SH 7 when an eastbound Dodge pickup crossed over into the westbound lane of SH 7.
 
The preliminary DPS report further states the pickup struck the towed trailer of a 1999 Peterbilt driven by Jose Alan Cespedes, 65, of Loxahatchee, FL. 
 
After the initial crash, the Dodge truck then struck a second trailer being towed by a 2007 Freightliner driven by Gary Lewis Caddenhead, 49, of Grapeland, according to preliminary findings of the DPS.
 
Justice of the Peace Donnie Puckett pronounced the driver of the Dodge pickup deceased at the scene. He was identified as Clyde Edward Roberts, 60, of Crockett.

The driver of the Dodge truck was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Donnie Puckett. The identity of the deceased is not available for release until notification of next of kin can be made. SH 7 is currently closed while emergency crews safely clear the roadway.
