Reverend Glynn J. Vickers, age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Reverend Vickers was born January 14, 1930 to Myrtle and Rob Vickers in Kennard. He was a retired United Methodist minister of the North Texas Conference. He retired in 1994, returning to Paris to live out his retirement years.  

Reverend Vickers served churches at Addison Methodist Church, in Addison; 1st U.M.C., in Celina; Briarwood U.M.C., in Plano; Oak Haven U.M.C., in Irving; Calvary U.M.C., in Paris; 1st U.M.C., in McKinney; Whaley U.M.C., in Gainesville and 1st U.M.C., Mt. in Vernon. In retirement, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels in addition to mowing lawns for friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his wife Rona; son Gregg; daughter-in-law Joy; two grandsons Jake and Jon; sister Robbie Westbrook.

Funeral  Services for Reverend Glynn J. Vickers will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ben Read officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  

Memorials may be made to Calvary U.M.C. Multi-purpose Building Fund or Habitat for Humanity.
